Fasting Hands

This week's "Fasting Hand" was graciously lent to us by Gallery on The Alley in St. Joseph.
Wondering how this hand symbolizes fasting? Look closer:
the screen mesh hands indicate an emptiness and transparency that comes through fasting. The heart indicates sincerity. The happy base indicates that we are not to be somber or complaining in our fasting, but instead, to display a pleasant outward appearance. (Matt 6:16)
Questions or comments? Leave a post here or e-mail us at fumcdblog@gmail.com. We love hearing from you.
Next weeks theme is "Study". If you're the creative type, send your photographs, drawings, paintings etc. to us. Maybe we'll even post them here!
